Lynn, is this you???

Ahhh back to school.  I love it!  A chance for renewal, to start again, to get organized....

In that vein, my mind turns to our fall packing party for WHN, and I started opening boxes.   Problem is, matching boxes to emails has now become complicated.... Lynnw63 of Minding my Own Stitches fame, is this yours?

Lynn, I think that these were part of the package.  There were socks, there were beautiful blankets (I loooove a crochetted blanket).

...and there were even sweaters (south-east part of this photo).  Thanks, Lynn!

The crocheted blanket, the second group of socks and the finger puppets are from me :) Sorry I forgot to tag them.

Just to add, the stuff in the top photo and the bottom photo are NOT from me. Nor is the hat that appears with that second group of socks :)

I love the work you do.
Some thoughts on the books.
Many publishing houses have outreach programs for child and teen literacy, they may be interested in helping out.
Authors are also major proponents of building literacy. Many give generously of copies of their own books.
Book review sites. Sites doing book reviews receive hundreds of books, many adult, but also young adult genres. Usually the individual reviewer keeps those books but they are generous folks who are geared toward sharing their love of reading. I imagine it would not take much arm-twisting for those reviewers to send their copies (only read once) to a community library.
Schools: Children love to give. I think if you were to get some interested teachers on board, they might be able to organize children in their classes to raise money to purchase books for other children. It would be a good way to teach about the First Nation people as well as the gift of giving.

I hope some of these ideas help.
